All about cannabis

Are you new to cannabis use? MyJane has your back on this journey. Here are some things to keep in mind while you learn about cannabis products and benefits.

What is THC?
Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is widely known for its psychoactive effects. THC is also one of nature’s strongest painkillers. THC is non-psychoactive when used topically and can be micro-dosed to control psychoactivity arising from other delivery methods. (Source: Papa & Barkley)

What is CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is the cannabinoid that is non-psychoactive and is thought to be one of the strongest anti-inflammatory agents found in nature. CBD can be stored in our bodies. CBD can also counteract the psychoactive effects of THC. (Source: Papa & Barkley)

Can I be allergic to Cannabis?
It’s rare, but some people are allergic to cannabis. We suggest you see an allergist if you feel you might be.

Will I get high?
At MyJane we specifically curate products geared towards a newer consumer. Many of our products are low-dose THC or higher dose CBD so the high effects are typically less. However, everyone is different and what one person experiences may not be the same as another. Always keep CBD nearby to use if you do start too high as it may help counteract the effects.

Can I die from cannabis?
No one has ever died from ingesting too much cannabis. You would have to consume 1500 lbs of cannabis flower in a 15-minute time frame, which is impossible, to consume enough cannabis to kill you.

What does low-dose or microdose mean?
A low-dose edible usually means 10mg of cannabis or less. A microdose of cannabis typically means anywhere from 1mg to 5 mg of THC. When new to consuming cannabis a rule of thumb is always start low and slow. Typically, the experiences people will have between a five mg dose and a 10 mg dose greatly vary. The amount may not seem like a lot but for many new consumers, it can be a completely different experience.

Can I get a hangover from Cannabis?
A cannabis hangover is typically very different than an alcohol hangover. If you over consume cannabis you can feel sluggish or a little groggy the next day. Again, it’s important to start low and slow, especially with edibles.

When is it okay to eat another edible if I don’t feel anything?
We like to play it safe. Wait at least two hours before deciding to consume another edible due to how edibles are processed it can take longer than other methods of consumption.
